Shafer Vineyards TD-9Shafer's TD 9 has recently switched to being varietally labelled as a Cabernet Sauvignon, as opposed to a 'red blend'. It does still have a splash of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec in there, but 3 4 of the wine is Cabernet, all raised in new oak. Flavours of fresh black cherries, blackcurrant, red plum, thyme, rose petal, and toasty oak. Lush and mouth filling, it offers the kind of complexity and structure that ensures many years of enjoyment ahead.
